One dead in south DeKalb shooting

DeKalb County police are investigating a fatal shooting early Monday at an apartment complex near Lithonia.

The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. in the 800 block of Arbor Crossing Drive.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the 20-year-old male victim was visiting someone at the Arbor Crossing complex when he was shot. He later died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Witnesses told Channel 2 that they heard at least five gunshots, then saw someone running from the scene.

Police have not released the victim’s name or a motive for the shooting.
