A person was killed in a wreck in southwest Atlanta on Monday, police said.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard at West Ontario Avenue SW.

The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to a hospital and died, while the other driver was not injured, Atlanta police spokesman Officer John Chafee told the AJC.

It appeared that a car and an SUV slammed into each other head-on, Channel 2 Action News reported.
