A Marietta man died early Monday evening after losing control of his motorcycle and landing in front of an oncoming vehicle.

Kevin Silvis, 33, was traveling west on Delk Road in Cobb around 6:45 p.m. when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle, according to Marietta Police. Silvis was ejected from his bike into the path of a Chevrolet Impala driven by Jerlisa Taylor, 20, who was making a left turn off Delk Road.

Emergency personnel transported Silvis to Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. No one else was injured.

Marietta Police say no charges have been filed but the investigation is ongoing.
