Off-duty firefighter stabbed at Kmart

A firefighter who also works in loss prevention at an Athens Kmart was stabbed by a shoplifter Monday, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

Jason Still was stabbed in the chest in the incident. His injuries are not life-threatening, according to police.

James McLeroy, 31,  was taken into custody in connection with the stabbing. A second male, age 16, is being sought. The weapon was retrieved during the investigation, police said.
