For as long as they can remember, brothers Aarón and Stephano Domínguez have participated in artistic activities. This, thanks to the support and guidance of their parents, who themselves are dancers, actors and directors of television, theater and film productions.

The 22- and 24-year-olds form part of the cast of Breathe, the first chapter of a dramatic saga which explores the lives of several characters who are dealing with family problems, drug addiction and trafficking as well as violence and physical abuse.

“It’s my debut as a film actor. The three years that it took us to film the pilot, which required some pre-production work in order to polish up the final feature film, taught me to have patience and it provided a second opportunity to better develop my charter,” explained Aarón, who began working in the independent film circuit five years ago.

In Breathe, written and directed by Frederick T. Nah IV, Aarón plays Javier, the brother and right hand man of Lucas Hernández, the leader of a local cartel.

“I wasn’t in the original cast of Breathe. When Frederick found investors who could improve the project with more pre-production, they held auditions to replace some of the characters. They were looking for the villain, Lucas, so I auditioned and got the part,” said Stephano.

In addition to honing their craft as actors, the Domínguez brothers have other artistic talents as well. Stephano studied graphic design at the Savannah College of Art and Design, for example, and he is able to put his love for photography to work at his full time position, taking headshots of actors and models.

His true passion, though, is singing.

“My fondness for singing started when I was 14 years old, but it wasn’t until I graduated from high school, at 18, that I began focusing more seriously on music as a vocation. Music fills me much more, it’s my artistic expression,” explained Stephano, who also plays the guitar and piano.

Aarón has a more defined goal. He recognizes that acting is his main interest and passion, so he finally made the decision to commit himself 100 percent to it, even though years ago the idea of doing so made him nervous.

“Around the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015, I decided I didn’t want to spend any more time on other things. I was pursuing secondary dreams, because the artist life scared me, more than anything else because of the lack of stability,” said Aarón.

Both brothers are taking classes at different academies and acting workshops, in order to improve their craft. However, they continue to be loyal to the theater and dance productions and community events offered by La Máquina Teatral de Dios, an evangelical Christian ministry founded by their parents, Nicolás and Blanca.

As well, Aarón and Stephano have a younger sister, Raquel, who is also involved with acting and recently scored a role on a television series.

In addition to the Domínguez brothers, whose family is Venezuelan, the diverse cast also includes the talents of Mexican-American actress Erica Page; Colombian actress María Legarda and Puerto Rican singer and actor Nickie Jon Pabón. They play a family tormented by the lack of news regarding their father, a solider gone to war.

The premiere of Breathe is the main set of We Are Now Atlanta 2017, a campaign of Phoenix 4 Productions which seeks to promote the producers, writers, actors and other local talents belonging to the group’s namesake.
