The Georgia Department of Transportation recently awarded contracts for 4 projects to the Northeast Region totaling $4.7 million.

The largest project totaling $2.3 million was awarded to Pittman Construction Company for the resurfacing of State Route 105 from north of State Route 385 to south of State Route 17. The 9-mile project is expected to be complete in April, 2020.

The second largest project totaling $1.1 million was awarded to Peek Pavement Marking, LLC to upgrade rumble strips across Barrow, Clarke, Dawson, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, and Walton counties. The project should be finished by June, 2020.

The third largest project also totaled $1.1 million and goes to S&D Industrial Painting and Southern Concrete Construction Co., LLC for the rehabilitation of two bridges in Habersham County: the U.S. 23/State Route 365 bridge over Wilbanks Road and the U.S. 23/State Route 365 bridge over the Tallulah River. The project should be complete by Feb, 2020.

The final project totaling $314,366 was awarded to Southern States Pavement Markings, LLC to upgrade pavement markings along I-85 from north of State Route 53 to the Banks County line. This 19-mile project is slated to finish in April, 2020.
