North Georgia Tech gets new president

The Technical College System of Georgia is moving around some presidents.

Gail Thaxton, who is currently the president of Okefenokee Technical College in Waycross, will become the new president of North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville starting March 1. She will replace Steve Dougherty, who is retiring at the end of the month.

Glenn Deibert will serve as the interim president of Okefenokee Tech while the system searches for a permanent replacement. He is the former president of Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville.
