Free tax preparation and filing assistance for individuals will be offered by North Fulton Community Charities starting Friday, Feb. 1.
The Volunteer Income Tax (VITA) program, offered by NFCC and the Internal Revenue Service and United Way, runs through April 13 and is available to persons with incomes of less than $55,000 in 2018.
Taxes will be prepared in-person by IRS-trained and certified volunteers. NFCC is the only VITA site in North Fulton.
“This community outreach effort helps working individuals and families simplify the tax filing process and makes it easy for them to file,” said Eden Purdy, director of programs at the Roswell-based NFCC.
