Norcross' historic tour of homes has been canceled because of the sagging economy, officials said. The annual event is organized and managed by volunteers, with support from the city. Downtown manager Tixie Fowler said the tour is an expensive investment for participating homeowners, and organizers were having a difficult time getting enough residents to commit. In addition, a few key members of the steering committee didn't have time to devote the project this year, she said. To volunteer for the 2011 tour, contact Fowler at tfowler@norcrossga.net.
