Norcross is seeking a volunteer to fill a vacancy on the Downtown Development Authority. The DDA meets at 6 p.m. once a month on the first Thursday of the month. The board consists of seven members with four-year terms of office. The mayor and council appoint members.

The Development Authority is dedicated to the development, growth, and preservation of all business areas and works to advance projects. The DDA has turned its promotional efforts to attracting economic development to the downtown area and expanding the area toward Buford Highway. They are integrating the appropriate parts of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, the 2010 Parking Study, the Town Center LDI, the Redevelopment Area Overlay District, the Gwinnet Village CID plan for Buford Highway, and additional input from citizens of Norcross.
