Have some bank statements to get rid of, or an old VCR that’s gathering dust? The city of Norcross is shredding personal information and recycling electronics at events Saturday.

The shredding event will take place at Norcross City Hall, at 65 Lawrenceville St., and is open to the public. It goes from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the truck is full.

Electronics recycling will be at the city’s Cultural Arts Center, at 10 College St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Accepted electronics include personal computers, fax machines, phones, UPS batteries, typewriters and VCRs. CRT monitors can be recycled for a $5 fee and televisions (except console and projection TVs) for a $20 fee. It is also open to the public.

A clean-up day is only open to Norcross residents. Residents with proof of address can drop off any trash or unwanted items at the Public Works facility at 345 Lively St. from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hazardous materials will not be accepted.

Participants are asked to bring a canned good or nonperishable item to help stock the shelves at the local food bank.
