The Norcross Police Department currently has five vehicles in the NPD fleet with high mileage and, or are in poor mechanical condition and are considered unsafe for police use. The Norcross City Council recently approved a request by the department to sell these vehicles as surplus. The five vehicles include a 2009 Dodge Charger, three 2008 Ford Crown Victorias, and a 2006 Jeep Commander.

The Police Department also has two vehicles, a 2014 Smart Car and a 2015 Nissan Leaf, which are deemed no longer useful and are a drain on NPD finances. Both were purchased with federal seized asset account funds. Proceeds from the sale or transfer of these two vehicles must be returned to that account by federal law.
