When the new Norcross library is completed in mid to late 2021, the old Norcross branch public library at 6025 Buford Highway will be renovated and converted to be a new administration building for the Norcross Police Department. The Norcross City Council recently agreed to begin the process of requesting design proposals for the renovation.

The city hopes to develop the design during the library construction, so that construction contracts can be ready when the old library is vacated and turned over to Norcross. Starting the design process now will allow city staff and the design team to identify realistic project construction budgets and research grant opportunities to supplement city funds.

Funding for the design fees will come from SPLOST funding allocated for the project.
