The Norcross City Council recently approved the go-ahead for the Public Works, Utilities and Parks department to begin implementation of the Cemetery Master Plan directives compiled by L.F. Sloan Consulting and reviewed by the cemetery review committee.

The city has already begun completing cemetery maintenance recommendations including removal of dead limbs and trees. The master plan identified approximately 55 available full burial spaces along with 273 potential companion cremation burial spaces. In addition to this, L.F. Sloan identified two locations in which columbaria could be installed when additional space is needed.

The completed master plan provides detailed recommendations for restoration and preservation of the historic cemetery as well as defines proper management practices and procedures along with all forms needed to manage new burials.
