The Norcross City Council recently appointed two residents to join the Sustainable Norcross Commission. Jackie Morgan and Colin Steuterman will serve on the commission through April 5, 2022.

The Sustainable Norcross Commission is a seven-member citizen panel tasked with educating citizens and advising the mayor and council about sustainability and environmental matters through development of a city sustainability plan and regular communication.

At the same city council meeting, Norcross appointed Terry Sutton to the Tree Preservation Board for a term ending Sept. 6, 2022.

The Tree Preservation Board assists the Community Development Department in interpreting and enforcing provisions of the Tree Protection, Buffers and Landscape Ordinance in the city’s Unified Development Ordinance and advises the mayor and city council on matters pertaining to the preservation of trees and conservation of tree canopy cover within the city.
