The Norcross City Council voted unanimously Monday to renew City Manager Rudolph Smith’s contract for another three years. Smith’s contract was set to expire at the end of 2014. Under the new agreement, Smith will receive a 5.5 percent salary increase for an annual salary of $129,000 as well as a $300-a-month car allowance. Smith has been the Norcross city manager since November 2008.

At the end of the newly approved contract, Smith will mark 20 years of employment with Norcross.

As city manager, Smith is responsible for organizing and managing the daily operations of the city’s government in accordance with local ordinances, laws and policies. He is responsible for providing direction and development of the city’s annual operation and capital budgets.
