The Norcross City Council voted Sept. 8 to approve $9,550 for improvements to the Johnson-Dean Park. Volunteers partnered with the city in 2014 to transform Norcross’ urban forest by creating a trail, encouraging native plants to grow, removing old barbed wire fences and litter.

The approved funds will make it possible to add park entrance signage, tree and plant identification plagues, educational signage, a dog waste station and trash can, park maintenance and expert led nature walks.
