A nonprofit group has given $65,625 to feed needy seniors citizens in Gwinnett County.

The donation by Friends of Gwinnett County Senior Services will allow the county to provide 18,500 more meals for eligible seniors, many of whom has been on waiting lists. The county Board of Commissioners voted to accept the contribution Tuesday.

Friends of Gwinnett County Senior Citizens is a volunteer group that raises money to supplement county programs for seniors.
