Newk’s Eatery is opening a new location in Buford, the restaurant chain announced.

The new location bearing sandwiches, salads and cake will open Sept. 16 at 3730 Buford Drive. This is the Mississippi-based company’s 14th location in Georgia.

The new restaurant can accommodate 134 guests inside, and has 22 more seats on its outdoor patio. The location is about a mile from the Mall of Georgia.

Diners can get a free taste of the new Newk's ahead of the Sept. 16 opening. You can register online to get a free preview meal between Sept. 11 and Sept. 13. During those meals, the restaurant will be collecting donations for its charity Newk's Cares, which benefits ovarian cancer research.

For the Sept. 16 opening, the restaurant will hold a “dozen-layer cake cutting ceremony” at 11 a.m. Guests who eat at the new location for the first week of its operation will also be able to take advantage of special promotions:

• Tuesday, September 17: Free Crispy Day

• Wednesday, September 18: Free Drink Day

• Thursday, September 19: Free Cake Day

• Friday, September 20: BOGO Pizza Day

• Saturday, September 21: Kids Eat Free Day

• Sunday, September 22: 15 Percent Off with a Church Bulletin

The restaurant will be open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
