RoadOne IntermodaLogistics has opened a new Atlanta-based, 12-acre container yard facility at Moreland Avenue SE, according to TodaysTrucking.com.
The new facility has 100,000 lbs. heavy-lift capacity and a warehouse with 35,000 square feet for cross docking.
The company says the new yard is conveniently located between the ports of Charleston and Savannah, as well as near the Atlanta metro area, positioning containers for expedited transport within the Southeast region.
Chief operating officer David McLaughlin Sr. says RoadOne hopes the new facility will serve as a catalyst for future company growth.
With the new ELD mandate drivers can’t afford to spend their Hours of Service waiting in line at container yards, said Jeremiah Carruthers, VP field operations, South Region.
“We are pleased that this new operation positively impacts many other drayage carriers in the Atlanta, Southeast market by alleviating congestion at other depots and assisting drivers to have faster turn times,” he said.
