A subdivision of 36 detached houses was okayed Sept. 12 by a 6-1 vote of the Marietta City Council.
Councilman Joseph R. Goldstein was opposed.
Based in Marietta, Traton Homes will construct this age-restricted community for ages 55 and above, said attorney Kevin Moore on behalf of the applicants.
The homes will be built on around 11 acres at 1825 Stilesboro Road - land that was annexed from Cobb County into the city that also was opposed by Goldstein.
Also, the future land use of this property was designated by the council as Low Density Residential - except for Goldstein’s opposition.
