Gwinnett Commissioners approved a rezoning request Sept. 22 that will allow for a new 120-lot subdivision at the southeast corner of the intersection of Oak Grove Road and Hoke O’Kelly Mill Road. The 46.16-acre parcel is currently a vacant, wooded area.

The proposed development would allow 2.67 homes per acre, with a total of 15.39 acres, or approximately 33 percent of the land, to be set aside as conservation space.

The developer, Century Communities of Georgia, received approval for homes with a minimum dwelling size of 2,400 square feet, two to three stories at a maximum height of 35 feet, and all units would have two-car garages. The homes will be primarily brick, stone and shake on the three sides. Approval also provides a 50-foot wide conservation space strip adjacent to Shadowbrooke subdivision.
