New president for University of West Georgia

Kyle Marrero will start as president of the University of West Georgia on July 1, the State Board of Regents announced Friday.

Marrero, vice president for University Advancement at the University of West Florida, was the sole finalist for the job.

The regents have a history of naming just one finalist for college president openings.

The current West Georgia president, Beheruz Sethna, will retire June 30.
