Thanks in part to a $10,000 grant, Peachtree City is adding a playground to its Athletic Complex on Ga. 74 South.

A presentation by Public Services Director Jon Rorie to the city council on Thursday noted that the southern section of Peachtree City does not have the same number of full-size playgrounds as the central and northern portions.

City staff applied for and received a grant from Play & Park Structures to put toward a minimum $25,000 purchase. The city has chosen equipment for children ages 5-12 that costs $27,374, with the balance being paid from the current Facilities Bond budget.

The council approved the purchase 5-0.
