In an effort to better organize traffic lanes that routinely queue at the intersection of West Peachtree Street and Ga. 140/Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Norcross officials recently authorized the city’s Public Works Department and Community Development Department to develop an interim design improvement for the intersection.

New yellow striping and white directional arrows clearly divide the roadway and help establish the beginning of a left turn lane from West Peachtree Street onto Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Additional white striping indicates deacceleration zones for turning into existing businesses in the area.

The improved striping is expected to be an interim improvement until a future long-term solution is developed.
