The Marietta Board of Education has named Matt Freedman as the new principal at Park Street Elementary, beginning July 1.

Freedman is the current assistant principal at Belmont Hills Elementary in Smyrna, Cobb County School District.

He has been a teacher for nine years and an elementary grades administrator as an assistant principal for five years.

Freedman earned an Education Specialist in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University, a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education at Keuka College in Penn Yan, NY.
