Residents will now have another piece of artwork to admire in downtown Duluth. Artist Jennifer Freeman, with the help of Duluth Fall Festival volunteers, recently completed a mosaic artwork in Parsons Alley next to Dreamland BBQ. The piece will be dedicated at 6 p.m. Dec. 14.

The Duluth Fall Festival routinely uses all the proceeds from the city’s annual festival for projects designed to go back to the city. The organization’s $25,000 donation made it possible for the design, creation and installation of the mosaic, which spans 25 feet along the wall and rises between 5 and 7 feet tall. Public funds were not used for the project.

The project has been under installation since the spring, with volunteers helping to install each individual tile.
