A new MARTA bus route in Roswell, from the Mansell Road Park & Ride Lot to the Holcomb Bridge Road corridor, is scheduled to start running Dec. 11, city officials announced.
The MARTA Board of Directors recently approved Route 142, which will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Service will be every 30 minutes during the morning and evening rush and every 40 minutes midday.
Route 142 will start at the Mansell Park & Ride, at Mansell and Ga. 400. Buses will go south on Ga. 400, then east on Holcomb Bridge to Spalding and River Exchange drives in Sandy Springs, where they will reverse and retrace the route back to Mansell.
Passengers can transfer at Mansell to other bus routes serving North Fulton and the MARTA North Springs Red Line rail station. The transit agency is installing new bus stop signs along the route to direct riders.
“This is one of the more heavily traveled areas of North Fulton County,” said MARTA Assistant General Manger Ben Limmer. “An additional bus route will provide a transportation option and reduce the number of cars on the road in an already congested area.”
