New this year for the Alpharetta Food Truck Alley, a weekly food truck event, will be the participation of two of the city’s signature restaurants every Thursday evening.

The 7th annual edition of Food Truck Alley will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, May 9 to Oct. 10 (excluding July 4), on Old Roswell Street in downtown Alpharetta.

The family friendly event will offer five savory food trucks and two dessert options, as well as live music from 6 to 8 p.m., according to a city announcement.

Among the new features this year: A “Local’s Corner” with two local restaurants; and different weekly promotions at participating downtown businesses, such as “Make Your Own Margaritas” at Ceviche, “The Art of Smoking Drinks” presented by Mercantile Social, and BEER 101 classes at Truck & Tap.

Food Truck Alley also will highlight a different nonprofit organization and social project each week. While there will be limited street seating and picnic mats to borrow, bringing a blanket or chair (and no pets) is recommended.
