Fayette County has appointed three members to new terms on the West Georgia EMS Council. The Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 on Feb. 13 for Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Hill to fill an unexpired vacant seat (previously held by Tom Bartlett) that will expire on June 30, 2021.

Two candidates from Peachtree City’s fire/rescue department, Assistant Chief Kevin Baggett and Operations Officer Chad Matheny, were reappointed to new terms on the council that will end on June 30, 2022. Fayette is among the 12 counties in the Office of Emergency Medical Services’ Region 4, and is responsible for appointing four seats on its professional services council, which meets quarterly. The council, which has 44 voting members, oversees the Emergency Medical Services 911 zoning systems and regional communication plan.
