The Cobb County Board of Commissioners agreed Tuesday to pay $12.2 million for the rebuild of the East Marietta Library and Cultural Center.

Included with this project will be $1.35 million for paving at Sewell Park, 2055 Lower Roswell Road near the library rebuild at 2051 Lower Roswell Road.

On the same site, the present library was built in 1966-67 and renovated in 2009.

Batson-Cook Company is the contractor with an anticipated completion date by the end of 2017.

Funding will come from the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax and a $2 million state grant.
