The new DeKalb County Board of Education will meet with parents near Stone Mountain at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The board comprises three members elected last year and six empanelled by Gov. Nathan Deal to replace board members he suspended.

The two-hour event gives the new board a chance to share plans with parents, according to the South DeKalb Parent Council, which helped to organize the event at Redan High School, 5247 Redan Rd.
