Newly elected state House Rep. John Carson will be sworn into office on Nov. 1 in the House Chamber of the state capitol.

Carson, a CPA with SunTrust Bank, beat out former state Senator Robert Lamutt in a runoff election earlier this month. He will fill the Dist. 43 seat held by the late Rep. Bobby Franklin.

Cobb Superior Court Judge Tain Kell will give the oath of office and swearing in.

The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. and is open to the public.
