Among the nine new rezoning cases under consideration by Cobb County are a Kroger grocery store and fuel center at 2940 Cobb Parkway near Akers Mill Road and Cumberland Boulevard.
Also, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta officials want to expand their medical clinic at 3005 George Busbee Parkway near Big Shanty Road and I-75.
Greers Chapel Baptist Church seeks rezoning from R-20 residential to Office and Industrial for a church with a new LED sign at 1848 Greers Chapel Road.
Seven Star Ventures wants to build a mixed-use development of offices, retail stores and residential units at the southwest intersection of George Busbee Parkway and Frey Road on the northeastern side of I-575.
The rest of the requests include a retail shopping center on the south side of Dallas Highway and west side of Casteel Road, a retail business on the west side of Austell Road south of Clay Road and north of Doby Lane, offices on the north side of Dallas Highway and east of Bob Cox Road, an eating and drinking establishment at 5150 Austell Road and business retail at 2022 South Cobb Drive.
The planning commission will hold zoning hearings at 9 a.m. May 5, Board of Commissioners Meeting Room, Second Floor, 100 Cherokee St., Marietta with possible final decisions by the Cobb County Commission during the 9 a.m. meeting on May 19 at the same location.
