Traffic was to shift this week to the new Six Mile Creek Bridge on Browns Bridge Road (Ga. 369) near Cumming, in Forsyth County, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

E.R. Snell Contractor Inc. was awarded the $11.2 million bridge construction project in February 2017. The new bridge is being built next to the existing span, which dates to 1955 and is to be demolished.

The project’s scheduled completion date is May 31. Officials have said it will facilitate the future widening of Ga. 369 across Forsyth and Hall counties.

Six Mile Creek is a tributary of the Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier, and Ga. 369 runs between Cumming and Gainesville. Information: https://bit.ly/2PPgSYa
