A new apartment complex with nearly 200 units will break ground in Lawrenceville next week.

Sugarloaf Grove, a three-building residential development, will be built on 8.5 acres of land on 1850 Duluth Highway. Developers will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the complex on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The new complex will be at the corner of Duluth Highway and Sugarloaf Parkway, less than a mile from the Sugarloaf Mills shopping center.

Sugarloaf Grove is expected to include a pool with an “expansive pool deck” and cabanas, plus a fitness center and dog park. The development is planned to be walkable to shops and restaurants at Sugarloaf Mills and surrounding areas.

The complex, being developed by PointOne Holdings and Brand Properties, was first presented to the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in 2018. The developers announced the project officially in June.

No estimated completion date has been announced for the apartments, which are being marketed as “luxury” units.
