Do you have bulky items lying around the house and yard waiting to be thrown away?

Roswell and Milton residents, your chance to ditch that bulk will be Aug. 20 for Bulky Trash Amnesty Day, officials announced on the Keep Roswell Beautiful website.

Every year, Keep Roswell Beautiful and Roswell and Milton's public works departments host this free event to help rid residents of unwanted items taunting them every time they come home from work.

Those interested in participating must bring a proof of residency to the event, which will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 20 at the City of Roswell Public Works Division, 1810 Hembree Road.

What will be accepted:

  • Tires – automobile tires only; off the rim, and limit 4 per car
  • Sofas and chairs
  • Tables
  • Refrigerators, washers, and dryers
  • Deactivated cell phones
  • Mattresses and box springs

What will NOT be accepted:

  • Paint
  • Televisions and monitors
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Any fluids, i.e.motor oil and anti-freeze
  • Household batteries
  • Construction and demolition materials
