Georgia Army National Guard infantrymen from Gwinnett County are on their way to war again, three years after a yearlong tour of Iraq.

Georgia Army National Guard infantrymen from Gwinnett County are on their way to war again, three years after a yearlong tour of Iraq. This time, the 48th Infantry Brigade is heading to Afghanistan to spend 10 months training Afghan soldiers and police. The mission includes the 1st Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment's Alpha Company, based in Lawrenceville. A sendoff for the soldiers was held Wednesday at the National Guard armory.
