The Atlanta Branch of the NAACP is gearing up for ACT-SO by hosting a local competition March 31 at Frederick Douglass High School, 225 Hamilton E. Holmes Dr.

Local winners represent Atlanta in July at the national finals Houston.

The NAACP’s nationally recognized Afro-Academic Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO), is a year-long achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among black high school students.
