The Municipal Court of Atlanta is closed for the rest of the day due to a power outage caused by a traffic accident.

The power outage is impacting the Government Center area, which includes the ATL311 Customer Service Center, the City of Atlanta Wellness Center, the Government Center parking deck and the City Plaza parking deck, according to a press release.

Anyone whose court date was affected can email CourtDate@atlantaga.gov.

Georgia Power is working to restore service to the area.

The city expects the ATL311 Customer Service Center to resume operations by 1:30 p.m. Updates may be posted on the city's website.   

The accident knocked down power lines at 440 Whitehall St. SW. The Municipal Court of Atlanta is located at 150 Garnett St. SW.
