Construction intended to improve community services above and below ground in Tyrone has begun.

The town has started site preparation for its new municipal complex on Senoia Road, which will house a larger city hall and meeting space as well as the police headquarters. Also underway is an expansion of sewer services for the downtown area. That project will consist of a force main starting at the Southampton subdivision off Spencer Lane that will parallel Arrowhead Road, cross Senoia Road and continue along Commerce Drive, ending at a pump station behind the recreation center. Additional sewer service lines will be put along Senoia Road from Castlewood Road to the Gunnin Graphics site.

The sewer expansion is intended to alleviate septic system problems at downtown business locations and accommodate future improvements to the downtown area.
