Three pets died in a Marietta house fire early Monday morning, reports Channel 2 Action News.

The fire happened about 8:30 a.m. at a house on Merritt Road. One dog, Ubu, a 7-year-old lab mix, was saved and given oxygen by a Marietta firefighter before being rushed to a veterinary hospital, according to Channel 2.

Two cats and another dog did not survive.

No humans were injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, but the homeowner told Channel 2 that officials were asking about a propane grill in the backyard, which the owner said had been off for 15 hours.

Cobb County fire spokeswoman Denell Boyd said the fire started on the back deck of the home and appears to be an accident.

A neighbor, Patsy Adams, told WSB that she heard an explosion.
