The Fayette County Transfer Station will no longer help residents load mulch from the yard waste area. The change is in response to state and local orders to reduce social contact.

The facility, operated by Waste Management at 211 First Manassas Mile Road in Fayetteville, is so far still operating under normal hours, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Visitors can still load their own free mulch from that site and from the stockpile on McDonough Road, but are asked to adhere to social distancing requirements and stay at least 6 feet away from other people and practice good hygiene. More information is available at 770-305-5410 or solidwaste@fayettecountyga.gov.

Peachtree City also offers free mulch to its residents 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays at the Rockaway Road Compost Facility off Ga. 74 South; see www.peachtree-city.org for possible updates.
