Mountain Park is celebrating Earth Day by suggesting activities families can participate in through April 26.

Suggestions include picking up trash along roadways, mowing to establish a clear and safe path along a roadway, or clearing debris from sidewalks and gutters.

For those preferring to work closer to home, suggestions include blowing leaf and tree litter from the road, gutters and drains, mowing a neighbor’s lawn after finishing your own, trimming grass and weeds growing along the curb, right-of-way, or in the cracks in your street, and/or washing pollen-coated mildew off your mailbox or street signs.

Kid-friendly projects include creating a poster or slogan celebrating Earth Day #50. Children are invited to display posters in their front yard or at the entrance of their street or subdivision, and/or create chalk art on driveways.

Earth Day photos can be sent to MtnParkCA@gmail.com. Everyone is reminded to be aware of traffic, and to maintain a safe “social distance” from anyone not in your family.
