A motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and killed late Thursday morning after he was hit by a motorist rushing a left turn.

Police say the biker was traveling north on Suwanee Dam Road around 11:30 a.m. when he plowed into a Honda Civic turning into North Gwinnett High School. Investigators say it appears the driver of the Civic is at fault though no charges have yet been filed. More details on the driver have yet to be released.

The biker's identity was withheld pending notification of relatives. He was pronounced dead on the scene, in unincorporated Gwinnett County.
