A Lawrenceville motorcyclist died in a Sunday night crash, Gwinnett County police said.

Josa Then-Valenzuela, 27, was riding his motorcycle on Dickens Road in Lilburn around 9 p.m. Sunday. He was weaving in and out of traffic at high speed, police said.

As Then-Valenzuela crossed into oncoming traffic, he hit a Toyota Rav4 head-on, according to police. The impact ejected Then-Valenzuela from the motorcycle, fatally injuring him, police said. The crash occurred near Hopkins Elementary School.

The driver and occupant of the Rav4 were not injured in the crash. Police have impounded both the Rav4 and the motorcycle for “further analysis.”

The Gwinnett County Health Department is warning customers of a Wendy’s restaurant to get checked for hepatitis A. An employee of the restaurant on Scenic Highway was diagnosed with the infection. Hepatitis A, a viral infection of the liver, can be contracted from contaminated food or water, or from contact with an infected person. The virus spreads when an infected person does not wash his or her hands adequately after using the bathroom An immunization is available at Gwinnett County Health Department
