A 32-year-old motorcyclist was left in critical condition late Friday after being struck by an SUV on an Atlanta street, police said.

The accident occurred at the intersection of North Highland Avenue and Amsterdam Avenue around 10:15 p.m., police spokesman Officer John Chafee said Saturday. The man on the motorcycle was traveling south on North Highland and the driver of the SUV was traveling north when the SUV made a left turn onto Amsterdam, turning in front of the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition after the collision. The SUV driver was not injured.

"At this time, no charges have been filed, and investigators are working to determine who is at fault," Chafee said.

Neither the motorcyclist nor driver was identified.
