A motorcycle wreck killed a 46-year-old Canton man, the Cherokee County fire department announced Friday.

The man died when he lost control of his motorcycle Thursday night on Ball Ground Highway in the Keithburgh community.

Reports were he may have been traveling at a high rate of speed around 11:30 p.m. A passerby found him lying in the road, fire department spokesman Tim Cavender said.

The cause of the accident continues to be investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.

The man’s identity has not been released.
