The mother of two involved in a head-on collision in Johns Creek on Friday has died, the Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed to the AJC.

Her 12-year-old son remains hospitalized though he's expected to recover, Johns Creek officials say. Kelly Robertson, of Alpharetta, was traveling westbound on State Bridge Road when her Ford Expedition was struck by another SUV driven by Raymond Myrand, 62. Myrand, traveling east in the westbound lane, died on the scene. Robertson, an organ donor, was pronounced dead Saturday.

Johns Creek Police are still investigating what led Myrand to drive in the wrong lane. Spokeswoman Rosemary Taylor said a conclusion is expected by week's end.

Robertson, 41, is the fourth person to die in recent weeks following accidents involving wrong-way drivers. On Nov. 21, 24-year-old Shameyka Welch, a mother of four, was killed when her car was struck by a driver traveling west on I-20 East in Atlanta. Police say Robert Ayiteyfio, who fled on foot but was eventually apprehended, was drunk at the time of the crash. He's charged with DUI and vehicular homicide. Welch's boyfriend and two children were injured in the wreck.

Last Tuesday, Jahan Zackery, 25, was killed when her car collided head-on with another driven by Theus Monroe, 26, who was traveling north in the southbound lanes of the Downtown Connector. Monroe was charged with vehicular homicide and Atlanta Police suspect he was driving under the influence.
