The mother of a 5-year-old girl struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in south Fulton County on Tuesday night wants justice.

"It ain't an accident if you keep going. It's murder. It's murder," Rose Felix told Channel 2 Action News on Wednesday.

Jaleah Felix, 5, of College Park died after being hit by a vehicle around 8 p.m. in the 5300 block of Campbellton Road, Fulton County police Cpl. Kay Lester said.

It appears the girl and her sibling were crossing the street on their way to Sandtown Park when Jaleah lost her shoe and was struck while trying to retrieve it, Lester said.

Police believe Jaleah was hit by a dark-colored pickup or SUV-style truck.

"Whoever did this, you have killed me and my family, too," Felix told Channel 2.

The child was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she died.
